Distance Education Announcement for the Students

Dear Students,

As Gazi University, we are prepared for the distance education in this pandemic period. As of 30.03.2020, you are expected to join the Learning Management System (LMS). You can reach this system via https://uzaktanegitim.gazi.edu.tr web address. Here are the steps that will show you how to participate in the virtual/live classes: 

 1. With the help of “the LMS login” link on  https://uzaktanegitim.gazi.edu.tr, or via https://lms.gazi.edu.tr web address, you can reach the system.

 2. Via “the LMS login” or https://lms.gazi.edu.tr web address, you can log in the LMS after filling the information given below. For the username and password:

Username: Student ID Number,

Password: Foreign ID Number

You can use “Forgot Password” in case you forgot your password so that your password will be sent to your email address, which is registered on Gazi University Student Information System.

 3. By clicking on the course names, you can reach the pages of each lesson.

 4. You can join the live lessons at the lesson hours indicated on the program. Live lesson hours of each class have been indicated in the program which will be announced for you.

 5. Via the corresponding lesson files, you can reach the class materials, the lessons that you cannot simultaneously watch, or if you want to watch the lessons again. 

 6. On live lessons, you can simultaneously ask questions to the lecturer through written messages.

 7. To log off after the live lesson finishes, you need to close either the page or the tab.  

 8. After finishing the live lesson, or after you watch a lesson from the lesson file, if you have any questions to ask, you can send your questions to the lecturer by using the “Message”   button.

 9. To sign out of the LMS, you need to click on the “Sign out” button, which is under your name, located in the top-right corner.

 10. For detailed information, you can have a look at the user’s manual for LMS, and watch the videos for the use of LMS. 

11. For your questions, you can use “Frequently Asked Questions” link.

 12. For further information, you can send email to guzem@gazi.edu.tr, when needed.

 

Dear Students,

Apart from these points, we want to remind you that:

In accordance with the announcement of Presidency of the Council of Higher Education dated 19.03.2020 and numbered 75850160-199-E.22344, all the materials shared with you during the distance education period, video, voice and image recordings have been conscientiously prepared by our lecturers. Since these digital data are shared with you in this extraordinary period, it is obligatory that you must not record these data via any kinds of devices; you must not share and circulate them on social media. Otherwise, it means misuse and breach of the personal data of our lecturers within the meaning of the Law on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK).

We want to remind you that these breaches will/may result in serious sanctions since these documents shared with you. Video, voice, and image recordings are the personal data of our lecturers in line with the Law on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK). 

For the breach detection in line with KVKK, it is crucial to state that our university will not accept the legal/criminal responsibility, but the lawbreaker will be responsible for the KVKK breaches, this is to hereby inform you that this paper serves as a warning in line with the Article 8 and 10 of KVKK.

We have total confidence in our students that you will use all these digital materials for only learning procedures; you will not use them in other environments.
